Medcurio partnered with HITLAB to conduct a usability evaluation of the VennU platform. HITLAB researchers conducted a comprehensive assessment that combined both shadowing and hands-on testing to evaluate the platform’s functionality and user experience. The evaluation was conducted from multiple user perspectives, including those of an analyst, security administrator, and system administrator. Researchers shadowed an analyst as they built, deployed, and utilized an API on the platform, while also asking targeted questions to gain deeper insights into the platform’s usability and feature effectiveness. Additionally, the team conducted a hands-on evaluation of the demo version of VennU, allowing them to directly assess its capabilities and ensure that the platform met user needs. This evaluation followed Jakob Nielsen’s Heuristics, a well-established framework for assessing user interface design, ensuring that the evaluation was grounded in proven principles of usability.
The study identified several strengths of the Medcurio VennU platform, including its well-organized, intuitive interface and minimalist design. The platform provides a straightforward workflow for creating, editing, and consuming APIs, with real-time validation and clear error messages that help users quickly identify and resolve issues during API development. It also supports extensive customization and optimization, allowing users to adjust API endpoints and data processing for specific needs. The platform is equipped with robust safeguards that prevent API operations from affecting backend performance, ensuring consistent system stability and reliability. Key features such as the ability to mask sensitive data and dynamically calculate fields enhance its flexibility and overall utility.
Security is ensured through role-based access control and audit logs, which track user actions and any changes within the platform.
